If You Really Knew Me…
If you really knew me…. you would know that I LOVE to travel!! I love to see new parts of the world. See the art, the landscape. I love to meet the people and talk to them, hear their stories, learn how they live. I love to see how different people in other nations look and what they wear. We look so different, but are all the same on the inside. I was in Thailand building a house for a family, they barely spoke English, but we made such an amazing connection through expressions and actions. I got a fortune cookie the other day that said ‘ A smile can always overcome the barrier of language’ and that is SO true!! One of my goals in life is to be on all 7 continents, I have been on 5 so far.
If you really knew me…you would know I LOVE to laugh and smile!! I am 21 and my face already looks like an 80 year old man from wrinkles from smiling and laughing so much!! I always try to find the humor in things and make something positive out of it. I won ‘Best smile’ in my 8th grade yearbook!!
If you really knew me…you would know that faith is still very new to me. God changed my life around Christmas time 2010. The World Race P squad and race contacts taught me a lot when I first began this walk with faith, and still do, but I still don't have a church to call home. I still read and learn something new everyday. I love the lessons God teaches me ๐ I can't wait to learn as much as I can while on the race.
If you really knew me….you would know that I LOVE music!!! I think music is so uplifting and can put you in a good mood anytime!!! I love all types of music, I'm very eclectic. I can't dance or sing if my life depended on it!!! But I love to anyway ๐ My favorite Christian artist is Coffey Anderson, if you haven't listened to him DO!! He remixes new songs and turns then into Christ remixes. Sooooooooo sick!!
If you really knew me…you would know that I LOVE to be in nature, don't get me wrong, I do love the city life, but it is just relaxing to be in the middle of nowhere, listening to the wind, the birds, smelling the fresh air!!! The Beach is my favorite place to be though. Growing up on Cape Cod, it's a must everyday. But while I was living in Malawi, the lake was amazing!!! God is defiantly present in that water, he has done some powerful stuff there, you will see in about a year ๐ But I could just sit on a rock in the middle of nowhere and just talk to God all day!! I love it!! I love to play sports outside!! Especially if it's raining, I love to play in the rain.
If you really knew me….you would know that I AM SO EXCITED TO GO ON THE WORLD RACE!!! I can't believe God has given me the opportunity to do this for Him!! I am so excited to meet my squad, to go to 11 amazing countries!! I get to see Thailand again in a whole different perspective. I get to show my squad how AMAZING Malawi is and show them my HOME!!! I can't wait to talk Chichewa with the locals and shop in the market and go to the lake!!! I can't even imagine what God has in store for us in the next year, but I do know that I trust anything and everything he does do!!!
If you really knew me…you would know that I LOVE HUGS!! lol I think hugs are the best thing in the world!! If your having a bad day or just need a pick me up, call me and I give good ones!! I think a hug is such a better way of showing someone that you care for them, no matter how well you know them, just to show you care for them and you want to make them happy and put a smile on thier face!! Smiles are contagiouse you know!! So Oct squad, I'm expecting BIG hugs at training camp!!!
