Cardboard Testimonies

We went to a nearby area where heaps of students all came through after school because of the bus stop, Maccer’s (aka McDonald’s), and the mall. I have gone a few times and have come to enjoy this ministry. I was hesitant and nervous, but bold. I sat at the bus stop. Just about everybody read the signs with either confused, scared, disgusted or smiling faces and some did approach.

I had a man tell me that it was not real, history has proved it wrong, and it is all bull. As he was leaving he said “and by the way I am Jewish.” The Bible talks a lot about how the religious scholars of the day missed the mark, not believing that Jesus was and is the Messiah. Many needed to see the miracles and the resurrection with their own eyes to believe. John 20: 29, “So you believe because you’ve seen with your own eyes. Even better blessings are in store for those who believe without seeing.” (The Message). It takes faith.

I had a chance to talk to some kids from a local catholic school. They were hesitant, but our conversation started to flow. I got to hear their prayer requests, encourage, and dig into hard questions.

You never know the impact you have. Planting seeds. Within our team some amazing relationships were built. You could hear and see people come closer to knowing God. There were kids who came to expect some of us to be there and looked forward to it. Kids are amazing to work with because they ask good hard questions; they are not afraid to ask, and still are full of so much hope. So many times as we grow older our hurts and fears are strengthened seperating us further from the one who can heal and redeem us.

I get so pumped and excited talking about this. God has put a fire inside me to glorify Him. My hope is for all to feel this excitement; for all to know how God created us, sent his Son so sin has no power over us, and our lives are resurrected for eternal life with our Father.
