Time is standing still.  We are nearing the end of a two week visit to a small village in Mexico by the name of Trinidad.  As it has only been twelve days I feel as if our time here has spanned that of many months.  This stand still is a very good thing.  I wrote last week about the number of different beds I had slept in and the frantic pace thus far on the race.  I sit now in stark contrast.  The lifestyle of the locals here in Trinidad is one of work when you need to work and rest the remainder of the day.  Time, priorities, and to do list take a back seat to the ever pressing virtue of just being still.

Our days have consisted of rest and prayer, while the evenings are spent performing dramas and sharing testimonies at the local church.  Relationship building at this point is the focal part of our ministry here.  While the dramas have been effective, I believe the conversations consisting of broken Spanish and an abundance of grace as we continue to butcher the language, have proved to provide more fruit.  We are making friends on a daily basis and continue to press into their lives, which I must admit are far more happy and fulfilled than that of anyone I have met back home, myself included.  It’s been a great and humbling experience to find joy of such great magnitude in the hearts of a people who by my shattering standards have far less.  This then is the great riddle.  The big joke.  The not so hidden secret kept from my understanding, most likely by my own choosing.  All that is held as sacred in my eyes, these dying eyes, amounts to nothing.  Somewhere in the south of Mexico, where the ants are plentiful and possessions few, people get it.  Time is a gift from God.  Embrace it, yes, but never fill it, because then you lose it.

Support Update

God is Good, what else is there to say really?

In the time that we have been in Mexico we have received many donations from family and friends, even a couple anonymous donations (one for 200.00 and another for 300.00).onomas  Our total support raised so far is $4,565.00 already given and $7,500.00 in pledges.  Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we are now at the half way point of our support raising goal.
