So what exactly is the World Race?!

Well let me tell you!!! The World Race is a long term mission trip that will begin in January 2015 and I will be traveling to 11 countries in 11 months partnering with ministries all over the world!! The countries I will be serving and living in are India, Nepal, South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Latvia, Estonia, Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, and Vietnam! To give you a little insight about this journey– all we take is a backpack, sleeping bag, tent and clothes for a year! CRAZY RIGHT. We are also in a sense, moving into the communities and building relationships with the people and the organizations while we serve. I will have more details on specifics for each country soon! Below is a little glimpse into why I chose the world race..

THIS ISN’T RADICAL

Let me explain, yes this journey is a crazy adventure and will teach me so much more than I could ever realize about who God is and his purpose for my life but it’s not radical! At least not for me, God has given us each passions that make us come ALIVE, he has called me on this journey and even though I don’t always feel like He knows what he’s doing calling ME out for this I trust that my obedience will bring about change and empowerment in our broken world. 2 Chronicles 14:11 says “Help the powerless against the mighty IN YOUR NAME we have come. We rely on you” I’ve come to realize that sometimes God calls us to do things we feel we aren’t capable or worthy enough to do but in this he shows HIS power and strength within us to carry out his mission. When we move in obedience God moves in this world, not because of anything we are, but because of everything HE IS. Our legacy in life isn’t about anything we do or don’t accomplish its about knowing who we belong to and understanding that our identify and worth only comes from being His beloved. Our culture has caused us to commit to constantly improving ourselves, we are addicted to the idea that worth is linked to our achievements in life but God says NO WAY who I have created you to be is enough!!

God isn’t looking for a hero he’s looking for warriors of his kingdom and he doesn’t call the equipped he equips the called. “I used to be afraid of failing at something that mattered now I’m more afraid of succeeding at things that don’t matter” This seems to be my life quote lately. Learning to rely fully on Gods purpose in my life and know that I will fail along the way but keeping my eyes focused on his love and grace is more than enough to make it through this amazing adventure ahead.

ok thats all for now, I’ll get better at this blogging thing as I go… hopefully 🙂

Love
