40+ hours of travel later from South Africa to Nicaragua and we have finally made it here to our ministry host sites. It only took 4 flights, 3 stops and 2 days later and we were here.

Parent Vision Trip has come and gone and I was blessed with a week of quality time, good conversation and love from a little piece of home, my momma! I was able to share with her the life I’ve come to know as normal, from waking up with countless amounts of bug bites and showering with cold water to loving on people and praying for them all because He first loved us. This week was one that I won’t ever forget because I didn’t have to explain the ways I’ve changed but by her being there she is a living testimony to see the ways the Lord has transformed my heart.

I am in month 7 right now and there are only 2 left until I am wrapped up in the arms of my friends, family and small hometown of Holderness which I have missed so dearly. Home is so close yet so far away at this point but I know there’s so much the Lord wants me to harvest in this season.

As I enter into this last leg of the race, I would like to introduce to you my new team- Team Steadfast! BUT, before I go any further, you’re probably wondering why this name. Well, to start with the race is starting to show its wear and tear on our physical, emotional and spiritual well being and we don’t want to finish that way but we want to be steadfast in how we love each other, our ministry and ultimately the Lord. We want to finish this race strong with taking everything we possible can away from this experience. Okay, our team is made up of all girls and I couldn’t be more excited to be blessed with more sisters in Christ. Their names are Rebecca, Sydney, Vicky, Maria and Kacie and they’re my squad mates, teammates and ultimately my sisters.

For the remaining 2 ½ months I will be living with on Island Ometepe, located in Lake Nicaragua. Here is where my team, along with 3 others will be residing at CICRIN, a “safe home” for kids who are in abusive situations at home or whose families just simply cant afford to care for them in order to teach English, help with maintenance around the property, prayer walk and evangelize in the community. I am excited to be here but I have noticed that ministry days can feel slow at times. Please be praying for emotional and physical strength as we go about our days here and for spiritual strength to pursue all the Lord has for me and my teammates in this place for the time remaining!

I would like to thank you all for your prayers and continuous emails and messages. Home is just around the corner and for those of you who don’t know, I will be flying home to Boston on May 29th! I look forward to seeing all your sweet faces that I have missed so much.

Until next time

xoxo
