When you think of healing what do you think of? Jesus spitting in the mud and rubbing it on someone's eyes? Someone touching the edge of Jesus' cloak and being healed? What about sitting in a chair and praying over someone who has one leg shorter than the other and watching it grow in front of your eyes?!? Well let me tell you.. THAT JUST HAPPENED!
We are starting month three in Northern Ireland in a city called Coreraine. We are working with Causeway Coast Vineyard Church, and let me tell you it is amazing. As I did office work today with a few other girls from my team we flipped through their ministry outreach and there is so much going on in the church. It reminds me so much of my church back home, and it makes me so grateful to be a part of both my church and this one here this month.
One of their ministries is Healing on the Streets. It is their way of reaching the lost and hurting on the streets by powerfully expressing God's love in the community. They go out to City Hall, put a huge banner up that says "Healing", and set out chairs around. They pass out flyers and if someone excepts they invite them to sit down to be prayed for. Tonight we met at the church for "training".
A man named Mark Marx started this eight years ago. Since then they have spread all over, and do street healing around the world. His stories are amazing, and as he taught we all sat there awe struck. It's so hard to wrap your head around stories of healing, when you've only heard things like that in the Bible! But I am here to tell you it still happens! And as sons and daughters of Christ we have the authority to do it!
After Mark went through the do's and do not's he asked if we had anyone who had a leg shorter than the other. We had two people. One was Logan, who after an accident had a metal hip put in and now has one leg shorter then the other. The other was Lauren who had been going to the chiropractor for years and had been told one leg was shorter than the other.
He had Lauren come up first, and take her shoes off. As he prayed over her, commanding her leg to grow we all watched as her leg began to grow right in front of us. You may think I'm kiddding, or exaggerating, but I'm not. As hard as it is for me to wrap my head around it – even after watching it with my own eyes – it really happened. Then, before we could all pick our jaws up off the ground, he had Logan sit. Same thing. He prayed, and his leg grew one whole inch right in front of our eyes!!
Let me tell you, if you have never experienced God's healing before.. there is nothing like it. The power that coursed through that room was incredible, and whether you believe in God or not there would be no denying that He was there in that room. After witnessing all of this we were so hungry for more, but we had no more time at the church. Mark, seeing how much we wanted more, joined us back to the scout home we are staying at to talk to us more and do more healing.
God used him to heal Jeff of back pain he'd had for months now. After being healed Mark moved on to heal others as Jeff slipped out of the room. None of us knew this at the time, but Jeff went to the gym to test out his new back strength. He piled on weights after weights on the bar doing squats after squats. There was no doubt God had healed him, and healed him well.
The healing continued, and our own sweet Deborah even had the opportunity to speak healing over Marks eyes – that his vision be made perfect again. Although there was no instant healing, we believe that Jesus is in the process of healing him. Along with one of our married couples on the squad who cannot conceive, we believe God is in the process of healing their barrenness.
As we ended the night Mark asked anyone who needed healing from fear – of any kind – to step to the front. I have carried so many fears with me my whole life, and was ready to give them up to Jesus. I stepped forward, face covered in tears, as he prayed over us. As the squad gathered around in this small crowded room all I could sense was Mark's voice, and the love and presence of God. Even with my eyes closed, as he spoke healing over us, my vision went from darkness to light.
Let me tell you what I walked away from there with tonight..
There is NOTHING impossible for God. NOTHING!!!
Healing comes from one person, and one person only.. God. It is nothing we do, but rather what God does through us that causes healing.
There is no classification as to what is "impossible" to heal. -ie. a headache or missing limb – With God any healing is possible.
As sons and daughters of God, redeemed by Christ, we have the authority to do great things!
So.. do you still just believe healing ended in the Bible times? Or are you hungry to know more of what is going on still today? If so go to www.healingonthestreets.com for more information. Something I once thought was impossible, I am now empowered to do myself. God is so great, and more powerful then we could ever comprehend. Don't put God in a box. Know that there is no request too big for God, if it's made with a true genuine heart. ?
And now have a question to ask you. Are you inspired? Do you believe that God can heal, true miracle kind of healing? Well I can tell you I do – without a doubt. Not only do I believe, but I know that as a daughter of the King I can do healing with the authority given to me by Jesus. I am ready and willing to go out and do healing not only here in Ireland, but all around the world. But that is not possible if I am not funded.
I have 23 days to reach my deadline of $11,000. If you could, please be in prayer that God provides for me and others on our squad who have not yet met that deadline. Also, if God places on your heart to help financially support me you can do so by clicking the "Support Me" link on the left hand side of my blog. I would be most grateful. God has been teaching me great things in the past 2 months, and already in the 2 short days here in Ireland. I know God has called me to the World Race, and I know He has greater things in store for me in the coming 9 months.
You would not only bless me by your donation, but the hundreds and even thousands of people God brings into my life the next 9 months. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Love and Thanks,
Bri
