We have spent our time teaching English in a local school, doing community outreach, helping with the church youth program, and preaching and teaching every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. It has been a great time of loving and encouraging local believers as well as just making new relationships with people on the other side of the world. This beautiful country has been an amazing break from the tension of our past months, definitely the kind of place I’d love to come back and visit again!

family jam session in the living room! 2 guitars, 1 mandolin and 1 egg shaker! we’re starting a traveling band… be on the look out for our first album.
At the beginning of the month our team had a vision to head to an unknown spot in the city and just take time to worship as well as offer prayer to anyone who wanted it. So this past Thursday we put that plan into action. We headed to Ratna Park, which is an open area near one of the large bus stations, and is almost always filled with locals. We sat down in a grassy area, pulled out a guitar and a mandolin and just began to worship. I closed my eyes and after several minutes had gone by opened them to the surprising scene of over 100 people circled around us captivated by the random group of foreigners singing on the lawn. Well, if there was ever an open opportunity to share the love of God, it was then. So Birdy boldly stands up and begins telling them (in English, with no translator) why we are there. Within minutes a man comes out of the crowd and just begins translating for her. Perfect.
So now that we’re bi-lingual we start getting specific. “Does anyone want prayer?” “Who has pain? We believe that God loves you and if we pray for you He will take it away!” Bold declaration. But we believed it. So why not act in faith? Then we get specific. Justin calls out, “Who has pain in their right knee? Someone has pain in their right knee and God wants to heal you!” Sure enough, man with right knee pain walks forward slowly with his hand half raised. Now we’re stoked! Here goes. So the seven of us gather around him and just being to pray calling out to God and commanding healing over his entire body. His legs begin to shake and after about a minute he starts laughing. We look at him and almost in unison declare “You’re healed!” Our new translator friend graciously translates and the man responds with, “Yes! Yes there is no more pain! No more pain.” BOOM! God is so good.
So we split up into 3 groups and begin praying for the lines of people that are now coming forward because they just saw God do a miracle for this man, and they wanted some of that healing power as well. We stood in Ratna Park for four and a half hours that day and prayed for person after person until we had laid our hands on well over one hundred people. There were issues brought before us like backaches, headaches, knee pain, joint problems, muscle spasms and more. Every single person that came forward was healed that day by our loving and powerful God.
When we prayed for them we made sure to let them know that the healing they were about to receive (we were confident in His power every time, and told them to be as well) was not from us and not because of anything cool we could do. We stressed that it was all straight from the God of the universe that loved them as a person so they should thank Him and seek a relationship with them, because He sure wants one with every single person that He created!

So that was our Thursday. Pretty darn exciting if you ask me! We were able to be a small part of God showing His love to His people because we took some bold steps with our faith in Him. He is good, and He’s NOT just moving on this side of the world! Take a step, act on what you believe, He loves to show up!
Another way I’ve seen Him this month? Creation ๐ This is just one shot of the beautiful snow-capped Himalayas that I was lucky enough to capture!
Seriously, breathtaking in person!
That’s all for now! Thank you for all of your prayers, please keep them coming! We’re leaving for Swaziland on Thursday and will be working at an orphanage there during July! Africa may be a little short on Internet, but I’ll update when I can ๐
Peace&Love
