So I have been debating writing a blog about this but really felt Jesus asking me “Why not?” So, here it is.
“I just want to help people.” That is the anthem of my life. I said it before the race, during the race, and now after the race.
Many of you who know me know that I spend a lot of time feeling purposeless or looking for purpose. It’s something Jesus and I are working on. Being on the world race gave me so much purpose. So much to look forward to, so much to invest in. I knew that my purpose was to love those I encountered and to help in any way I could. To try to share Jesus with people just in the way I lived my life.
I have been thinking a lot lately and I came to the conclusion…why should that be any different here? Shouldn’t my purpose be to love people I encounter and help any way I can anywhere? I can do that from America. I can do that in Michigan. I started praying for distinct ways I could be doing this. That God would give me a passion for something and that I would have the confidence to run with it.
Well, then Young Living Essential Oils fell into my lap.
I’m sure a lot of you have heard of Young Living by now. For those of you who haven’t; Young living Essential Oils are oils that are distilled or pressed from plants. They have been used since biblical times and are mentioned hundreds of times in the bible. They are the most wonderful thing that have ever entered my home. I now make all of my own homemade cleaners, knowing they are toxin free. I use them for certain body issues like head discomfort and sleep support. I use them as lotion and to help me maintain a joyful spirit throughout the day.
It was never my plan to actively promote Young Living. I was so not into that kind of thing. But after seeing their benefits in myself I had to share with my friends and family. When something creates positive benefits in your life, don’t you want to tell the people you love? That is what happened to me. I saw the ways they were affecting me and I started telling people. Then they started telling people. And so on. God has given them to us as natural gifts, and He blessed me with the opportunity to learn about them. So I share.
I share about them because I see how much they positively change peoples lives. I have friends telling me their babies are calmer and sleep better. I have family members who have seen stress levels decrease significantly. I kept praying to God asking for something meaningful to share with people. Asking for a way to love people better. This is my way. This is why I share Young Living. Because I believe they are a gift from God that can do so much good. I want to share the good. There are people who will not support the things God wants you to do. It’s ok. Do them anyway. I know for some people it might not be their thing, and that’s ok. But for some people it will be. If I continue to share and don’t give up…one day someones life is going to change.
I thank God every day for answering my prayer and for giving me something I am passionate about. Something I believe in. Jesus is really cool like that. He wants to give us the desires of our hearts, sometimes we just forget to ask.
