So the day started with me pulling in all nighter. I was leaving at 4am and everyone was leaving the next day for America so I stayed up. I went out eat with everyone, had a drink then went to watch the midnight showing of Superman. By the time we got home we had like 30 min before I had to leave. I went with this guy named Mark who is one of the interns. He is on the same track as me. We were told that we were going to Dortmund, Germany and we had 150 Euros for 5 days. When we landed at 10 am, we prayed that God would lead us to the people He wants us to meet. We took the bus into town and went to the hostel that was given to us. It was too expensive so we were looking up other hostels in the area. We found another one to check and I prayed that we would use God's strength and not our own. We started walking down different streets in the city square. We came to this sweet fountain took some pictures then saw a church and took pictures of it. As we were heading off towards the other hostel Mark heard something. We walked over and heard people singing "This little light of mine" in English. So we went over to talk to them. They were taking photos while they were singing so we were just watching creepily from a distance to talk to them. Once they were done we asked if anyone spoke English. One lady said she did but they had to do a performance and can talk after. So we waited and they were performing for homeless people and they were getting fed at the same time. We got free food while we were waiting for them to finish. After we told her that we were Christians and heard them singing. She invited us to her church for service the next day which was Sunday. She then said it is hard to find so how about I pick you guys up. She asked where we are staying and told her we did not have a place and did not know that we were going to be in Germany. She was like you came here by faith? We said yes and she then called the pastor. He wanted to meet us so she drove us to the church. While we waited we got free ice cream. The pastor took us to his house and gave us a bed. He did not have any blankets so he called people at 12am for blankets for us then picked them up for us.
That morning we asked the pastor if there was anything we could do to bless him and he said he would think about it. So when we got to church, we told about 100 people how we got to Germany and how blessed we were to meet everyone. This is an international church and the congregation is mainly from Ghana and speaks English and translates into German. The night before, Mark and I talked about giving 10 percent of our money to the offering. We gave 15 Euros and in 30 minutes someone came up and gave us 20 Euros and someone else gave us 5 Euros. The pastor was telling everyone that we were going to teach the church on discipleship on Wednesday night. Midway through the service Mark and I went with the children to share with them and teach them. That night we went to the assistant pastor’s house and had dinner with him and his wife. They gave us homemade popsicles, macchiato and amazing fish for dinner. Before we left we prayed for them and they gave Mark a painting and me a brand new tie.
On Monday we walked around the city and got to send time with each other. Mark and I shared how we came to know Christ and how we got to G42. We tried to go to the museums but they were closed on Mondays. Oh it was also freezing in Germany and we were told it was going to be warm. We did not pack any pants or jackets and when we arrived it was rainy, overcast and windy. We prayed that God would give us an umbrella and He did. He made it not rain on us while we were walking around but it would rain once we were inside a building. Tuesday we went with the pastor to pray for a teen age boy who has leukemia. We drove to another city and prayed for healing for the young man. I think the whole wing could hear us praying for him. It was so amazing! The pastor dropped us off at a house to have dinner with a family. We had dinner with the lady who we met day one and another lady. Their kids asked us questions about what a missionary is and other questions about America. After our time with them the pastor picked us up and took us to another house. The lady at this house was healed by God! The doctors tried every medicine and even got some from the US and the UK. They released her to go home before she would die and God visited her at the hospital and healed her. She could not eat anything and if she did her body would just throw it up. After God visited her she was able to eat and walk again. She made Mark and I a meal and it was her first meal that she has made since she got sick. We prayed for her and thanked God for the work that He had done. There was a lady who was a friend of a lady in the congregation who came with us. She accepted Jesus right there after hearing the testimony.
On Wednesday, we walked around and checkout some museums and ate some amazing German food. We were walking and wondered why everyone was at this one restaurant. It was a fancy restaurant that only served ice cream. We ate some ice cream Sundays and they were massive. We had some coffee after before we were going to meet with pastor for our teaching. We arrived at a house and dinner was made for everyone who was going to attend. Mark and I asked the Holy Spirit if there was anything He would like us to teach on but we did not have anything specific. We asked if anyone had any questions and we would answer them. God showed up in a big way! The questions we got asked were no simple question these were deep questions. The questions went from how to not lose passion to spiritual warfare. All the lectures we had here in Spain came out in that hour. Verses and the points that were made in class were shared and I was amazed on how much I remembered. It was such a humbling experience to share everything that I had been learning. Also to be at a young age where everyone there wants to learn from you and receive what I have to offer. When we finished we prayed for everyone there and for the church. That night Mark and I wanted to give the pastor 50 Euros for gas money because he was almost out. He did not want it and said he should be giving us things. We prayed for the pastor and thanked him for everything. In the morning, someone from the church picked us up and took us to the airport.
God blessed me so much and showed me that if I go on faith He will provide all my needs. I was never hungry or without anything. God just showed how faithful He is to us. He even showed up in the little things. It is an experience I will never forget!
