In this season of my life, God has continually echoed the word Restoration in my life and I’m here to write a small piece of its significance.

My favorite verse in the Bible is Colossians 1:20 NLT

“and through Him, God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.”

It brings me so much joy. In that verse, I feel everything that God stands for in all of his goodness and glory packed into a few words. Because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have the opportunity to know the Creator of the Universe. We get to experience pure joy, peace, righteousness, love, and everything we need to be satisfied as humans because of His death. Everything that once was broken because of the Fall can now be Restored back to God. Instead of throwing humanity to the side after we decided to turn our back on our Father, He didn’t give up on us but instead gave us a rescue plan through Jesus. His unexplainable love brought Restoration. He brought Reconciliation. Every day we have the choice to be in communion with God and continually be reconciled into His Goodness or live out our selfish desires that lead to brokenness.

Restoration brought by Christ is the opportunity for all people to be loved by the Father and loved by their Neighbor. The biblical message of Restoration is an active love that needs to be spread across the world in order to bring an everlasting Kingdom. As Christians, we are the hands and feet of Christ’s reconciliation to His lost Sons and Daughters. But continuous Restoration also applies to our Christian Communities, our Churches, and our families because we are still sinful and undeserving of God’s love just like everyone else. The only difference is we have the truth that brings life.

With that being said, restoration is needed within the American church. The inconsistencies of the American church to the Biblical church have left us to dry and out of touch with society. We need to be bringing unconditional love and hope alongside a popular culture, that we know as truth holders, is going to fail. Instead of turning our backs in disagreement and casting judgment on those who don’t know the goodness of God, we have an amazing opportunity to lift up those who have fallen into the brokenness of Pop culture. We live in a divided nation that needs a supernatural restoration. As Christians, our fight has never been left vs right, but rather above vs below. Our eyes need to be on Jesus’ love and reconciliation rather than the never-ending disagreements of politics. As Christians, we don’t live under the Biblical law anymore, so judging others under that law means that Jesus’ death was pointless to you. We live under the grace, truth, and love of a savior that gave everything to us in our sinful humanity. Let us live out of love and restore the divide that is in our nation.

As Christians we are sinful, but we know a truth that brings life

Our American Christian culture has forgotten the truth we hold and has decided to cast judgment on a popular culture that we know won’t last

We need to RESTORE this world with the Love and Hope of our savior Jesus Christ by choosing to come alongside those who don’t know the truth.

We have a Holy Spirit inside of us. That same Spirt that was in Jesus, and the same Spirt that was in the apostles and early disciples. Know your identity in Christ and bring Kingdom to those around you!

“If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.”

1 Corinthians13:3-7MSG
