Ok, this was such an amazing
experience! So we are in Lima, Peru and we are walking back from our squad
meeting. This is a super long story and for me to explain it, would be
pointless. So, I grab the elbow of our squad leader Bethany, and start to lead
her home, like she is blind. And I cannot talk. Remember, we are in a
city…Lima…and our meeting was about 20 blocks away from our hostel that we are
staying in. There were a few times that Bethany opened her eyes, but for the
most part, she had her eyes closed, even when we crossed the street!

It felt good for someone to
trust me. Most people think they cannot trust me because I’m super wild and
crazy energetic, but this felt good. She trusted me with her life.

Also, from my perspective, I
had to guide her. Shoot. What happens if she trips or stubs her toe? Wow, it
was a lot of responsibility. Also, it was tough because I couldn’t talk, so I
had to find a way to communicate.

It was a lot of fun! A great
trusting
activity. I look forward to the time when I can be the person that is blind and
has to trust the other person with my life.

Hopefully this picture helps
explain everything more clearly.
