Ok so we flew from Thailand to Kenya. Then we went to our
hostel that we stayed in for two days. Africa is very cold right now [it’s their
winter]. Again we are living in a different culture, so there are different ‘norms’
and other culturally sensitive things that we have to be aware of. Then we went
on a bus to meet our contact, which is in Eldoret, Kenya. The bus ride was 7
bumpy hours, but I saw baboons and a herd of
zebras. Wow.
We got off the bus and met our contact, then got into a van and it immediately
started down-pouring and thundering so loud! The lightning was so beautiful. [it
reminded me of the P Squad that I met in Haiti…we watched an INCREDIBLE 3-hour lightning
show over the ocean, free of rain. They told me I was doing the world race…wow
that was 11 months ago…THANKS P SQUAD!!]

We got to our house and we have a roof over our heads! It is
so amazing, I love it!! I know…I’m excited about even having a roof over my
head…weird what the world race does to you…haha! There was Chi tea and cinnamon
rolls waiting for us! These people really know how to welcome world racers! [we
are their 5th WR team!!] Then we hung out and talked to them, and then that
night…I found out that I’m preaching tomorrow morning. Haha…TIA (This Is
Africa)… So God helped me prepare a sermon, which was legit. It was about
loving…where it comes from, how we are supposed to love our brothers and
sisters in the church, and about how we are supposed to love the people around
us.

Love is:
very patient
kind
never jealous or envious
never boastful or proud
never haughty or selfish or rude
not demanding of its own way
not irritable or touchy
not holding grudges
not noticing when others do it wrong
never glad about injustice
rejoicing whenever truth wins out
loyal no matter what the cost
believing in him
expecting the best of him
standing ground defending him

Also, I ironed my shirt for the first time ever…and it was right before church…and it was in Kenya…go
figure. FYI: it didn’t look that good, but it was better than it was. Silly shirt
was ‘wrinkle free’…grrrr

oh right…happy 4th of July…lol
