Summary of Peru:
This has been an amazing month for me! After coming off an
amazing debrief in Quito, this has been great! Just growing into the new person
that God has created me to be.
So quick little tidbits:
We were in Trujillo, Peru. A large city. We lived in a big
church.
We served during the week at two smaller sister churches. We
did kids club on the weekends and I was CRAZY! I was singing the songs and
doing the motions for them…well singing in Spanish doesn’t work to well for me,
but the kids loved it when I tried!
At the other little church, we build a wall and 3 small
Sunday school rooms. It was actually really fun because it was my first time
making cement: it was great! Loved it!
My free time was my most important ministry. Instead of chilling
in my room, wasting time, I looked for stuff to do! This one time, cell
(community) groups, were cancelled and I was sad. So instead of free time, I
started walking around and found out that there were some cell groups going on
at the church! So I found one with and English speaker! Super long story short:
he opened up his life to me and told me everything. Summary: He became a
Christian and was really involved with the church and then there were some
family difficulties going on, so he was a little confused and hardened his
heart towards God. So God told me to read James 1:2-5, so I did and God really
spoke to him through those verses! It was amazing! When he came to church the
next day, people said that he looked different! That is so amazing! Now we are
great friends and it’s because instead of wasting my free time, I chose to be
open to do something for God. It’s really cool how God blessed that time and
used me. If you want to be used, all you
have to do is pray, “God, how can You use me today?” and put on your
seat belt, because God is going to rock you world!! Along with this guy,
Christian, I met a lot of other people that will be life-long friends. Christian,
keep sharing your testimony. Daniel, keep leading worship and playing new
songs! Sunday School Helper Ladies, keep up the great work!! Stephany, thanks for everything you did for me! It really means a lot;
keep bringing that fire back to the church!! Thanks lunchbox girl: you made my
day!
