2nd– The past few days we were in Quito, Ecuador
for debrief. It was a nice place to relax and catch up with other squad mates.
The best part: God met us there.
Debrief consisted of talking and hanging out with everyone
on our squad that I haven’t seen for a month, meeting with squad leaders and
coaches and talking about the dynamics of our team, and corporate worship!
Some crazy stuff went down during worship! The first night
some team changes went happened. It was sad, because we lost Rosa and Hailey;
but we rejoice because Team Kaleo now is lead by Jeremiah and Katie is also a
member of our team! There was a brief time of mourning, but later that night we
were full of joy!
The next day we all explored all over Quito, trying new
foods, going into crammed markets, darting across streets, and seeing sights
that you just don’t see in the states. It was also just good to relax and
unwind from the past two months. That night we had prophetic worship and it was
so great to just be free and worship God however we wanted to. Us men also had
some tribal dancing, which was soooo much funnnn!!!
The next day, we had man time: where we went bowling at a
mall. We also had a good reminder of what it really meant to be a man and
making sure we are following after God’s heart. 1 Peter 1:15-16 – But just as he who
called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be
holy, because I am holy.” So that is something that we were
challenged to do. That night we just chilled with Jesus and we asked Him to
show us His kingdom. It was such an amazing night, just basking in God’s glory.
Our last day was a sad one. Our squad leader, Robbie, was
leaving us. The men did a ribbon dance for him (long story) and then prayed for
him. One of the men had a vision for him and it was incredible! So after the
meeting, he asked for the men to pray protection over him. After praying and
crying for him, we were about to wrap things up, but God told me to put my hand
on his chest and pray that the Spirit would fill him more. And He did! So much
that it bounced back on me! It was crazy!! We were both on the ground, it was
amazing! To sum things up, I’m a new man and it feels amazing! (if you want the long story, ask for it…it
was a crazy time!!!!!)
Then we left from Quito, Ecuador
to Peru. It was a long travel through the night, but we got to the border and
we had such a successful passing! Praise the Lord! Then we spent the day there,
waiting for our next bus ride. The day was so much fun: playing the dart game,
soaking people (squad mates…not random people…well maybe they got caught in the
cross-fire…oops!) with water guns, having great talks, relaxing, trying
crazy exotic food, and so much more! Then another overnight bus ride, and BAM,
we are in Trujillo, Peru for
the next month. We are with a church and helping build it!! We are also going
to be doing children’s ministry and helping a church of 700 on Sunday. That’s
an update for now, I’ll have more later!
