Yes, it’s true, I’m officially an uncle…but only here in
Ecuador. Don’t worry, as far as I know, Neal and Rachel are not having a
kid…yet…So how am I an uncle you ask? Well first, look at my niece and nephew.

The one day we ate breakfast and since it was raining, we
could not paint, so we were just going to go back to our house and chill.
Before we left, we went into the kitchen and there were a few women in there
and there were these two adorable children each sitting in a chair. The girl
had a volleyball and the boy had a football. The boy threw the ball to me and I tossed it back: thus
starting a game called, “toss.” They would both throw the ball at the same time
and I would attempt to catch both of them and then toss them back. After about
15 or 30 minutes of this, we decided to go home, at which they cried,
“Don’t leave, Uncle!” (it was said in
Spanish, but Rosa, my teammate, translated it for me.)
So now whenever they see me, they scream, “Uncle!!!” and
they run to me and I carry both of them around. Good thing they are both so
small! We just started Vacation Bible School yesterday and they sat on my lap
the whole time. We brought ice cream to them that afternoon and it was so cute
to see them try and eat ice-cream off a Popsicle stick 🙂 I didn’t have a
camera at the time…sorry.
