Wow! There is so much going on here in Chiang Mai!

So in the mornings we go the university and talk to random
people and build relationships with them and then invite them to Won-Gen Cafe.
It has been going very well and students are actually coming up to us and saying, “Hi!” They remember us and it is so encouraging! Joel and I
actually did a ‘noodle eating competition’ and we ate a total of 17 plates in
15 minutes. Wow…we may or may not have barfed afterwards…we tied for first
place though!

Anyways, after the university we go to the cafe and talk to
the students that come to hang out and practice their English. So one day a group
of 9 people came in, and they were my friends!! This was so exciting and so
encouraging! I talked to them for about an hour or two and it was great! First crazy thing: out of all the people in the
cafeteria at the university, I chose to sit with these people. Second crazy thing: they actually come to the cafe. Then
we are talking and they are here to do service projects. I told them about what
we are doing (university, cafe, slum, and bar ministries). Third crazy thing: they want to help us with the slum
ministry! What?! Are you kidding? So we got their contact information and then
I asked where they live. They actually don’t live or go to the university, they
go to a university back in Bangkok. So I tell them where I lived at in Bangkok
(for 2 days) and Fourth crazy thing: they live
right next to the YWAM base in Bangkok (where I went for 2 days). ARE YOU
KIDDING?! So this was definitely a divine appointment! I’m excited to see what
God is going to do with this relationship πŸ™‚

The cafe has been really good though! So many people have
come in and I have talked to a lot of different students! It’s great!!

So the slums: wow…the kids are so much fun! it’s such a
blast! One day, we went around with trash bags to pick up the trash and it was
actually a great experience! The kids came out and HELPED us! Wow!! They
actually took our trash bags and picked up the trash πŸ™‚ so many people said, “Thank
you so much!” wow, it was great! And I love the kids there πŸ™‚ the bottom right
picture has our interpreter, On! We are her first team that she is
interpreting for! She is amazing!!

Love those kids!!

Now before you look at this next picture…how do you like my
beard? Haha

The bar ministry is going great too! Our girls are building
such great relationships with them! They are going out to lunch and going
shopping with them to get to know them more. God is doing some amazing stuff! It’s
good for us men to be in the bars so that we can talk to the other men that are
there. They are lost and empty…looking to be filled. But unfortunately what
they are doing is only going to fill them for the night and they wake up empty the next morning πŸ™ Also, it is good for us to be there so the men and women
can see what a REAL man looks like. A man of respect. A man of integrity. A man
of God. Please keep praying for us!

So that is a little update on my life. Some people on our squad still needs money, so if you feel lead to, you can support my squadmates! Thanks!!

Oh, this video is about the university. It’s so funny πŸ™‚
