So last month, I took our little 3 year old [pastor’s son]
to school every day. The school was a 15 minute walk, so he always whined a
little bit and then I put him up on my shoulders. It was actually his first
month of school and I think he liked it.

He had his third birthday about 2 weeks into school, so we got to go to the
school and play with him and the other students during recess! It was so much
fun! I was tired in about 5 minutes ,which was really bad. But then I realized
I’m in Eldoret, Kenya which is about 7,500 feet above sea level. Eldoret is
also where the Olympic runners train because it’s so high up. It was really
cool to see men and women running on the side of the road. Who knows…maybe I
saw the future gold medalist and didn’t even know it! Haha
So now I’m in Uganda and it is a lot hotter.
Buttttt rainy season JUST started, like legit, we got here and the next day, it
rained, which was their SECOND rain in months, so yeah…it’s been raining almost
every day.
Anyways, this month we are with a small church and we are helping out with the
church and the school! So we are going to spend a few days at the school and
I’m pretty excited!! Our first day there, we learned how to make rope, dolls,
and balls out of banana tree “roughage!” It
was so legit!
this is me and the kids at school making and jumping rope:
Also, if you remember from Nicaragua, I gave letters out to
the students. The letters were written from students back in the States wrote.
Christopher Dock Mennonite High School helped me out with those. Well this
time, I have letters from Quakertown Christian School. I’ve been carrying them around for 8 months,
waiting to get to a school that spoke English. Well here we are! I got these
letters from the 1st grade from Quakertown Christian School! I can’t
wait to give them out to the students!
Oh yeah, I also helped drop the children off after school.
School bus drivers…God love ’em!!
Oh and this is our Christmas in July video…pretend I’m Santa
Clause…haha… … …
