And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being save (Acts 2:42-47 ESV).

(O' Squad!!!)

Every time I look at my new family in Christ, I think about this passage. I am also reminded of Acts 4:32-37. I have only known them for about two and half days now, but I can truly say, “I love them dearly”. I don’t know if I have ever been around this many selfless people before in my life. It’s such a beautiful picture of the body of Christ. I can’t wait to be on the field serving our Heavenly Father with them. It's so uniqe how we all come from different backgrounds, but through Christ we bond like we have known each other for years. I believe only the power of the Holy Spirit can do that.

It gives me hope that this type of community can happen through the body of Christ. John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” Jesus laid down His life for us, so we should be willing to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If we have the love of the father we shouldn’t be so consumed with the things of this world, but seeing after the needs of each other. I know there may be times where we dislike each other. I know there may be times where we don’t want to talk to a team member, but I know if we keep our eyes on Jesus He will see us through. As we serve together in the next 11 months, I pray that we keep this Acts 2 mentality. Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked (1 John 2:6 ESV). As I wait for launch, I can’t wait to see my spirit filled family again.

God bless,
