Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies (Proverbs 31:10). My mother is a hard working woman. She has a strong backbone and will. She girds her loins with strength, and strengthens her arms (Proverbs 31:17). My mother is strong woman. She loves people dearly and will give the clothes off her back to help others. She loves to cook (she’s a great cook, a really good cook). She can do whatever she puts her mind to. She is the oldest and of 7 and she has so many leader characteristics. She’s a servant at heart.
I love my mother with all of my heart. She has taught me so much. I remember when I was younger and I didn’t understand why she did some of the things that she did, but I thank her for it today. With the help of the Lord, she has helped mold me into the man that I have become today. My mom didn’t play; she would lay the smack down. She would whoop my friends and me if we all were out of order. She has always showed that motherly love. Now if I said that everything between me and my mother has always had the greatest relationship then I would be lying. I have had my moments in life where I felt like I knew everything or she couldn’t tell me anything. Looking back, I know that my mother was just trying to protect me from the things of this world. She would tell me not to date this girl, don’t go there, or don’t do this because she seen something that I didn’t. A lot of times I had to find out the hard way, but she has always been there to pick me back up. She has always been my biggest supporter. I can remember when I was playing football in high school and college and she would always come to the fence and call my name (I absolutely hated it), but she just wanted me to know that she was there rooting for me. She has always told me that I can do whatever I want in life when I put my mind to it.
I wouldn’t trade my mom for anybody in the world. She has made so many sacrifices for my siblings and me throughout our life. She has always made sure that we always had what we needed. I thank her for that. She has always been a woman of faith and prayer. I pray that my wife has some of the characteristics of my mother. My mother is the BEST!!! I want to wish my mother Dorothy Acker a very special Happy Mother’s Day all the way from Sevlievo, Bulgaria!!!
