You know when you read a verse you’ve read a million times and it hits you in a new way? I love that. Today I was reading in John during my quiet time and I had one of those revelations. It sounds so simple but my spirit is on fire!
“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” John 14-12
- If we believe in Jesus we will do the works that he did and even greater.
- It’s not about being able to do those things because we believe in him. Although, that’s how I have always read it. In the past this verse was telling me I could, if I chose to.
- If we truly believe in Him we are obliged to to show people his power! We just can’t help it.
- BECAUSE HE WENT TO BE WITH THE FATHER. He died for our sins and then rose from the freaking dead!! And he did it because HE LOVES YOU!
That message is WILD!
I have zero excuse what so ever not to be doing the dang thing. Preach it! Pray in the streets! Shout it from the rooftops! Just love people! Not because you can or you feel like it’s what you should do to be a good Christian. Do it because you just can’t not do it! That’s it. It’s that simple. If we can unlock this, we’re golden. Our work here is done. Jesus can come back.
Taking it back to my southern roots, that dog’ll hunt! A great reminder that we all need to hear every once in a while. Isn’t the Holy Spirit so dang cool?!? That’s a whole nother blog for another day.
