Good day my fabulous homo-sapiens (and animals),

I write you from Lima, Peru where we are in our Unsung Heroes Month.  This is the part where we travel all over the country and find new contacts for our organization, Adventures in Missions.  We try out the ministries for a few days and write a report up.  Since I did Ask the Lord month in Nicaragua, I was afraid I would never get a chance to do UH.  But guess what?  Here I am!!!!

Unfortunately, my pack has grown substantially, and I must either eat all my chocolate or purge some items.  Giant weights on one’s back, even when one’s team is called the Leatherback Turtles, are not conducive to extensive travel.

Last night, we took this awesome overnight bus from Trujillo and it was like a first class plane.  And the BATHROOM HAD TOILET PAPER AND SOAP AND WATER AND TOWELS.  It was like a beautiful dream. On the Race, one learns to appreciate fabulous bathrooms.

Today, I am rather groggy since I awoke with a jolt at about 7 a.m. with the news that we had arrived.  I took a nap but still couldn’t wake up.  So guess where I am now?  STARBUCKS!  *cue angel music*  I could cry with happiness.

That being said, I am still in a bizarre funk – maybe the month 8 blues or something.  I crave your prayers.  I am a person of extremes, and currently I am recovering from working hard to receive approval and swinging to the other side of apathy.  PLEASE pray.  I feel like I’m being attacked and my usual response of retreating inwards ain’t gonna cut it this time.

P.S.  Did you hear they changed the rules about semicolons?  They can’t do that!  That’s like Real Academia Española changing the names of the letters in the Spanish alphabet.  You can’t do that.  It confuses people.

With a lovely frappuccino,

Brenna
