The first week of this month we spent in a village that no white people have ever been to. It's called Khairang and its absolutely gorgeous there. We had to hike for four hours just to get there!  The people are called Stone Age or jungle people as they just started building houses about twenty years ago. Before that they lived in caves, it was so cool to see their life styles and handmade tools.

The local guys helped carry some of our bags. Their facial expressions were pretty funny as they put on the packs that weighed maybe 40 lbs. Considering they haul 100 lb bags of concrete along the same trails using a strap around their heads.

We spent most of our time there doing home visits, which meant more hiking to the people's homes! I have a nurse on my team so she provided whatever medical care she could with limited supplies. More often we could only pray and let God do the healing as we didn't have the necessary treatments.

Our contact here is a pastor named Abishek. He came from a Hindu family part of the highest cast here. The cast system is followed more closely here than in India. So if your part of the lower castes its basically impossible to find good jobs.  When he became a Christian his parents disowned him and any inheritance rights were taken from him.

He followed Christ anyway!

He eventually married a women from the lowest cast causing more family tension. His mother will rarely visit and when she does will not eat anything his wife makes. Since she is part of the lowest cast.

He has huge dreams for Gods kingdom and the village of Khairang.  There is already a church building and pre-school running for free.  He hopes to build a healing center and kitchen areas to be a greater help to the community.  The plans don't end there however as he is planning to go to a village that just a few years back killed a missionary.

This man is doing great things for God!

My team is currently working on the Unsung Heroes campaign seeking to find more people like Abishek.  Who could benefit from World Race teams coming to help, with man power and non-monetary support.

If you know of anyone that could possibly be a future contact send their information my way and we will take it from there.
