So, a little explanation before you watch this video…
I am a very analytical person, which makes me great at solving problems, but it makes me really bad at feeling weighty emotions and empathizing with the Lord’s people. I haven’t cried deeply in a long time. And as I have been learning that being a masculine man of God doesn’t mean being unemotional, but instead feeling hardship and responding accordingly (John 11:35, 1 Samuel 30:4), I have been asking the Lord to give me tears.
He answered my prayer last week through a dream I had of my best friend back home. It was just about one small thing, missing my friend, but I feel like acknowledging that brought out everything else that I had been holding back. So yes, this video is ugly, it’s sappy, it’s hard, but it’s real. It captures the difficulty of the Race and frankly a life lived in reckless pursuit of the Lord, but it also captures his goodness and faithfulness. This is pure and unadulterated heavenly intervention.
