Goodbye, Albania.
Sunday was our last day in Albania as my team left on a 5am bus on Monday. I have already been trying to figure out how I’ll be able to come back to Albania for a visit as soon as possible, but as they say in Albania: “no money, no funny”. 🙂
I went to Petrit and Meredith’s church for my last Sunday service and we sang “Blessed Be Your Name” by Christ Tomlin. I started to cry while singing the song because it just reminds me how good our Father is. The tears were caused by a combination of knowing that God is taking care of me and my team and our friends in Albania, and also praising Him for the kindness He is showing my family back home during a particularly difficult time. Ever since I heard about the situation back home I have been praising God and blessing His name for how He is going to bring Himself glory in all of this. Singing this song on Sunday was just another tangible reminder that no matter what is going on in life and in the world I can praise His glorious name with my whole heart. God is GOOD!!
Okay, so we have arrived in Istanbul, Turkey and will be headed to Israel in a few days. We will be in these two countries until the end of December. A few reminders for these “sensitive” countries:
1. I have to be careful what I put on my website here in order to protect our contacts and others friends we make.
2. I need you, as my readers, to know that I still want you to comment; just be mindful of what you are writing and be careful not to make direct references to “sensitive” (as in Christian) things.
3. Abbreviations and hyphenations will work, as will synonyms; I’ll still be able to understand what you’re saying.
Please remember to keep us in your “thoughts” and know that I am safe in His hands!!
I may not be able to post very often, but I will try. Thank you so much for your understanding and I look forward to continuing to fill you in on what our Father is doing in the world!
