The deep can rust even the best of ships. Tearing apart the old and making it new. Breaking it down to the frame and then to nothing. It’s the ultimate energizer bunny it won’t stop until it has engulfed all of you and even then it wants more. It has an appetite that this world can’t provide. A stomach so colossal, so grand. Its heartbeat radiates through all those who can see it and all those who can’t. Pulsating your body to a tune of something new. Curious you are, but no action. Depicting, but no exploring. Intentions but nothing ensuing. Mystified you are by its beauty but wanting nothing more.
It’s calls you out, out to the deep.
Say goodbye to the shoreline and sand. Kiss away convince and undemanding. Throw away the bags of doubt and sacks of sin. Brush off the sand that is covering up your true beautiful self. Erase away all the scares that apparently define you. Clear out the uncertainty and hesitation. Those have no chance against the waves of the deep.
The deep, a terrifying place where people have told you not to go. Don’t swim there, stay close to shore. Where warning signs say not to proceed. Because its a place of unknown, a place of uncomfortably. A place where you might not come back from. A place where you will drown.
But guess what? God is calling you out.
Out to the deep to a place where you might not come back. A place where change is the only option. Surrounded by his love you have no option but to be renewed and receive the water. It will fill your lungs no matter how hard you try to stop it. Taking the breath away of even the most experienced swimmers. Ships that try to cross it without sinking end up being remembered in history books and made into movies. Things you bring into the deep get obliterated. Utterly obliterated. The deep, not a gracious host, it closes the door on sin.
God is calling you out.
He wants all of you, every limb belongs to Him, every thought and every breath belongs to Him. Answering His call isn’t as easy as a swipe, the deep is not always peaceful, but He wants you there. He wants you to grow and become part of the deep.
Saying adios to the coast and embracing the world in the deep. Kissing the hardships and struggles, embracing them. Giving up the marker that defined you and become a canvas for God to create. Embracing the new, perfect in his eyes, you.
