6:00AM – Each morning I get to wake up on the roof of our building in my hammock to the sunrise over the city.

6:30AM – Breakfast
7:30AM – I get ready for my English class and students start to show up.
8:00AM – My first class officially starts. This is a beginner class made up of students who are a variety of ages. We teach them basic vocabulary, numbers, and play lots of games with them!
9:00AM – My second class starts. This class is normally made up of four or five students who are a bit more advanced. They are able to have a conversation, which makes teaching them very fun! We get to help them write stories, understand grammar, and ask them about their lives.
10:00AM – We spend time with our students until they get picked up and then clean up our classroom and plan for the next day.
10:30AM – Break Time! I use this time to study my Bible, worship, and journal.
12:00PM – Lunch Time! Each day the three teams who are serving at Ezra Ministries get together for lunch at our home each day.
12:30PM – Around this time we hop on our bikes and head to the library for the second half of our ministry day. Our ministry host, Ezra Ministries, recently purchased a cafe that there are cleaning up and renovating. We have been helping clean, paint, and cover the library books with plastic every afternoon. They will be opening their library-cafe later this year, it has been so cool to have to opportunity to help at the very start of this ministry. One day I hope to come back and see all of the amazing things that the Lord is doing through the cafe and library.
4:00PM – We leave ministry at this time and head home! I love being able to ride my bike through town each day. The freedom a bike provides is something that I have not had in awhile, and it also allows me to the this city in a way that I never would have without it!

4:30PM – The afternoons look different each day. Sometimes I will spend time hanging out with my squadmates in a cafe or at home, a few times a week we workout, and every once in awhile I will take a nap.
7:00PM – Every evening we gather together to eat dinner as a big family. Each week 2 people are assigned to cook our meals, so we eat whatever they have made for us and then each night someone will share a testimony. This is one of my favorite parts of the day!
8:00PM – Each day we have team time which is exactly what it sounds like, a hour or so spent exclusively with our teams. The time of each team time varies, but each week we rotate through these topics – worship, feedback, blogging, free-for-all, teaching/debrief, and journey markers.
9:00PM Bed Time! This is another one of my favorite parts of each day because I get to fall asleep underneath the starts, in my hammock, in Cambodia. I can’t help but be filled with awe and gratitude when I look back on each day and the fact that I get to live this simple, but oh-so-wonderful life.
Honestly, I wrote this because I couldn’t come up with anything for this week, but I hope it provides a glimpse into what my daily life looks like here in Cambodia! Not always that exciting, but definitely good! I am loving it here, and thank you to everyone who have been praying for me and my squad while be have been battling illness! We are on the mend and hopefully will not have any more issues! Keep the prayers coming!
Love from Battambang
