Hi.

My name is Bree, and I’m glad you’re here.
I’m just a twenty-something girl who is praying and preparing for this thing they call the World Race.
You might not be traveling to 11 countries in 11 months, but by reading this blog, I’ll hope that you’ll feel like you have. I hope that as I experience God moving in some of the most remote parts of this world, you feel him moving in your part of the world, too. God called me on this Race, and if he’s calling you to support me or pray for me or just to read of my travels, I can only hope that you are blessed.

On another note, I (as you might have guessed) do more than just prepare to race around the world, and the other things I love include:

Jesus
The game Clue
Iowa City when it’s above 30 degrees
Writing
People that I know
Books
Large bodies of water
The laptop I’m using right now
The smell of books
Food (especially if I didn’t have to make it)
Opening new things and using them
All forms of sugar
Rapping
Encouraging people
Discovering new music
Swimming
Teaching people to swim
Playing music really loudly

This blog is a place to write about the insane journey
that will be this World Race. I promise to keep you updated
on Race life as it happens, and I hope that God blesses
you as you read about his work being accomplished
all over the world.

Cheers!

[one more of my favorite things]

Isaiah 61
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
