If you have ever been on a road trip with me or even taken a hike with me in the wee hours of the morning, you know directions are not entirely my thing. There is definitely some humor in that I am leaving in August to travel to 11 different countries. These countries are in what is known as the 10/40 Window.
So what is the 10/40 Window?
The World Race Expedition routes are focused on reaching the untouched in the 10/40 Window, which is simply a term coined for the area between 10-40 degrees north of the equator. This marks the area with the most socioeconomic challenges and least access to the Christian message. For these reasons, the main focus of this trip will be sharing the gospel and building relationships in areas where Christ is not always welcome.
Specifically, our route includes: Spain, Morocco, Jordan, Israel, Cyprus, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and China.
In traveling to each of these countries we will experience many different political, cultural, and religious environments. Roman Catholic, Islam, Judaism, Greek Orthodox, Georgian Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Buddhism, and Christianity are only a few of the predominant religions we will encounter.
Please be praying that God will be preparing open doors for us as we arrive in these countries. Pray that we would be able to share His Gospel message boldly as we ought and that this truth would be “heard.” Please pray for me as I begin this journey of preparing for the race in these next few months, that I would be able to be studious in how I learn about these countries and prepare to live and speak in their different cultures.
Thanks so much! As always please comment and share. These blogs are an awesome way for me to stay in touch with you on this journey–start to finish.
