Happy Friday everyone! Yesterday I had the privilege of starting my day doing one of my most favorite things, surfing! My friend and I have been attempting to go sunrise surfing probably since last October to be 100% honest, which is a little embarrassing considering we live only 15-20 away from the beach. We would plan a day or a morning where we would attempt to hop in the surf and either A. life got in the way or b. we were too chicken (and a little rusty on the skill level) to get in. Not yesterday though! That day was different.

I was so excited I was up before my alarm and at my friends house ten minutes early ready to get this show on the road. Only to find out that she had been up earlier as well, also eager to see what was awaiting our arrival. We got to the spot and prepared ourselves to give this another shot. The surf was very calm, the water was glass like, and the tide was at its lowest as the sun was creeping over the hills. As if the morning could not be any more perfect, God blessed us with a pod of dolphins! We got to swim with the dolphins! At one point they got so close to me I was almost able to touch them. We felt like school children as we screeched with joy and excitement that these beautiful creatures were gracing us with their presence. It may seem as just a regular ol’ encounter with some sea animals, but to me this was God saying “Good Morning, welcome to my playground have fun!” What a joy it was getting to see them up close and be in their territory.  Following that encounter, we spent the next hour or so laughing and talking and “attempting” to catch a wave. I was so overjoyed and grateful that we got to even be in the ocean before starting our work day.

Isn’t it funny when you open your eyes and look for beauty in your day or encouragement that Jesus shows up in the most beautiful ways?  On days where you may feel defeated, worried, or the enemy just has you in a funk and you look up to see a butterfly, the warmth of sunshine on your face,  or your favorite flower, the smile from a loved one- that is an encouragement from God. It is our job to challenge ourselves and look for the beauty in every single day. Amidst the chaos, amidst our busy schedules, amidst our bad days He is in every thing. He is waiting for us to look up to him so He can tell us in his most loving and fatherly way, that everything will be okay, He is in control and He will get you through all things.  I love that our Father cares so much about us that he tries to provide things we love in each day, the question is do you pay attention?

Today, I would love to encourage you to look up and seek the gifts in your day. Ask God to show you that encouragement you are looking for and I guarantee you will find it was right under your nose all along. Life is busy, our schedules are demanding, and time is of the essence. But what makes our days worth it, what gives us hope and perseverance in our daily lives; are the gifts we chose to see in each day. Happy Friday, may each of your days be vibrant and full of Love and Hope. 🙂 <3
