As a World Racer…we are given the very unique opportunity to experience God around the world. During training camp someone said that this will likely be one of the greatest gifts our Father will ever give us. I can’t help but believe this will prove true. Adding to the blessing…is the fact that we will be able to capture the experience and paint it across the computer screens of our families, friends…loved ones…and strangers.
As I wrestle through the unknowns and anxieties of the year ahead…I’ve begun to question. I’ve questioned my purpose. I’ve questioned how I will process all of the hurt that will surround me. I’ve questioned if I’ll make a difference. I’ve questioned if it actually matters whether or not I go…I’ve questioned why I should go at all. The point is…I’ve questioned…a thousand questions.
But sometimes it is often through these questions…we begin to find answers.
A couple weeks ago a family friend unexpectedly sent me the following email from my World Race blog:
“Since my realization of where I was wasn’t what I need or want, I am proud of you taking on this mission for the glory of God. The taking of the Lord’s Word to those in need is what Jesus told the disciples to do in Mark 16:15-18 before he ascended to heaven to be with the Father.”
Last week this same friend…whom I had never spoken to about faith…tragically passed away.
As I began to process a new round of questions…it ultimately led me back to his email and meditating on the words he shared from Mark 16…”He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
amidst a thousand questions…i realize that it has something to do with HOPE…it has something to do with going…simply because He asks me to.
even if I don’t understand…
amidst a thousand questions.
Praying peace for you…my friend…John 14:27.
