So you are back for more I see. I will continue where we left off.

As I mentioned we ran into a lot of strange things in India, but the most unusual encounter was with a woman being possessed by a demon. Yes – you read that right. You might think that I’m lying, but this stuff is still real, my friend. After all, we live in a fallen world.

This was week one right out of the gate of the start of my World Race experience and it wasn’t at all what I thought it was going to be like. She didn’t spit pea soup or turn her head all the way around. But what did happen was that we were in the middle of worship at a church we were attending and, as the service began, she started to convulse. She began to make a strange noise. So I leaned over and asked Drea, a contact we had in India, what was going on and she told me that the woman was being filled with the Holy Spirit.

I sat there and thought to myself that this doesn’t feel like the Holy Spirit and then the woman fell to the ground and started to move throughout the crowd making a huge disturbance. In that moment, I knew that this was not the Holy Spirit. The reason I knew that is because the Holy Spirit won’t interrupt itself.

Well, once this started to happen we all went around her and started to pray for her. Then, after just a few minutes of praying, all the light went out and darkness set in. But in that darkness we were STILL praying – praying that whatever was attacking this woman would be cast out and that it would never come back.

Then I looked up and saw that all the cloud cover was disappearing and it was like our prayers were changing the very atmosphere around us! So I started to ask God to turn the lights back on and that when it happened that whatever was attacking this woman would be gone. After I said “amen” the lights turned back on and the spirit that was attacking her was gone! We asked her if she wanted to accept Jesus as the personal savior and she said “yes” and then we walked her through the prayer of salvation.

So now she has found freedom in Jesus. And she is still going to church regularly and walking with God!
