Serving is, or at least should be, a joyous action. Serving others shouldn’t be done out of an obligation or in expectation of something in return. Serving should be done out of love. Though loving others is sometimes a difficult task to take on alone. But realize that you’re not alone; realize that loving others is another step in a joyous life with Christ. Love is the greatest tool we have to combat this world filled with such hatred and corruption. This love is impossible to show on our own. It is the love that Jesus Christ showed to us by descending to this earth to die in our place. This love can shine through us, if we would just let it. When we surrender everything about us over to Christ we are filled with this love, so much so that it is literally overflowing and rushing out of us, impacting everyone that we are around, whether we talk to them or not. But sometimes, more often than not, we try to put up a dam to stop the flood of love that is rushing through us. We stop the flow, trying to fit back into the world saying that we want to be like everyone else. Newsflash! We are supposed to be different! We are called to be in this world but not of it. This is not our home. So stop trying to fit in. Stop clogging the flow of love that is Christ with things of this world! Stand on a hill and shout it out. My Jesus is love and He loves you all! “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8    “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” 1 John 3:16-17   “We love, because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
