If you’ve never read the book “Heavenly Man” you need to. It’s through this book of a man, by the name of Brother Yun, who has experienced extreme suffering and persecution for the name of Jesus, that Abba has been breaking away passivity and pride from my heart. Yun’s wife recalls in the book her husband saying this to her, “We are absolutely nothing. We have nothing to be proud about. We have no abilities and nothing to offer God. The fact that he chooses to use us is only due to his grace. It has nothing to do with us. If God should choose to raise up others for his purpose and never to use us again we would have nothing to complain about.”
The essence of this is so true. We have nothing apart from Jesus, to offer God.
Sitting here on a plane to Ethiopia Jesus is once again breaking the Pharisee of my heart. Just how much have I not been making Him my everything. He is showing me just how much I value the praise and acceptance of others. I have so often told others, ‘Are you seeking to please God or please to please people?”
In this moment Jesus is once again breaking the Pharisee of my heart. You are my everything Jesus and I love because of you. Help me to break away the hypocrisy that is in me, for I want only you and your Spirit to dwell here in this place.
I am so thankful that Jesus does not leave us the same.
“But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.” Hebrews? ?10:12-14? ?
We are made perfect by His blood though we are still in the process of being made holy.
