This is what my heart sings because i was a hopeless romantic. You should know that a hopeless romantic is someone who does not believe love exists for them, but wants it so bad. They’ll think of amazing scenarios, but in the end thinks no one is out there for them. A hopeful romantic is someone who knows someone out their will love them for them. They just haven’t come into their life yet and are content in waiting.
Whenever I watch a romance movie or show my feelings after it are always scream “I WANT TO LOVE AND BE LOVED LIKE THAT BY SOMEBODY SOMEDAY” and if I can achieve a relationship that adorable then I can bucket list check mark that forever.
Imagine slow dancing under a full moon and cloudless night on an arched bridge to no music. Or someone learns a certain song for you and brings you on a picnic to surprise you with it. The moments where you’re walking along a pier near a lake and suddenly you push that person into the water and they grab your hand as they go in, and you both surface laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation.
Let God romance you like that and so much more so that a human can just as much surprise you because you didn’t expect that side of His heart to be there. God in fact is the truest hopeful romantic. He’s waiting their wanting to fall into a lake with everyone in the world. He wants to be in an adorable relationship with you! While seeking this relationship with mankind or God constantly check your heart. In the book I kissed dating goodbye it says
“Intimacy without commitment is defrauding. Intimacy without friendship is superficial. A relationship based solely on physical attraction and romantic feelings will last only as long as the feelings last.”
This was originally meant in this book to be for humans. But if all we have is a feeling for God and nothing else then we’ll slowly come off our emotional high and crash.
God is the hopeful romantic because He’s waiting there to romance you. He’s constantly asking you on picnics with bouquets of flowers on a nice sunny day with a hammock waiting for the 2 of you under a large oak tree’s shade. So this is my heart and a side of His heart that I needed to share because it’s something I realized I have and is what He gave me to give to others.
The best part of it all is that God doesn’t just bring a bouquet of roses, because that’s from the same old book every man on earth has read. He brings you the wild flowers He made just for himself. The one’s in Anna’s analogy where they live and die just for Him without anyone ever seeing them. He brings them to US though! Because He loves us! Now that’s romance. I can only aspire to be like that. That’s His hopeful romantic side.
Songs of Solomon
The Bride’s Dream
3
1 On my bed by night I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him, but found him not. 2 I will rise now and go about the city, in the streets and in the squares; I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but found him not. 3 The watchmen found me as they went about in the city. “Have you seen him whom my soul loves?” 4 Scarcely had I passed them when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go until I had brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her who conceived me. 5 I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases.
When that special guy comes to romance you someday, girls don’t turn away or flinch when he says “I love you” or if he does something romantic that may seem weird. For example if he brings you your favorite flower on your first date. Because that’s turning away him trying to show you affection and will make him second guess himself.
