i think i am turning into a broken record, but the Lord seems to be teaching me a lot of the same thing… maybe that just means i am not learning fast enough =) the sermon at church on sunday talked about taking off “fear”, “doubt”, “pride”, and all those other things that get in the way of Jesus in our lives. “fear” and “doubt” stuck out to me. once again i am great at telling people how i am not worried about things, and that everything is going to work out, and i do believe that it will, but the more i examine my life the more i realize that i have fears and doubts that i don’t even admit to myself, let alone tell others about. so as i was reading this morning i came across this verse, and the Lord really spoke to me through it. i am putting it on here twice in two different translations. they say the same thing, but in different ways that really helped get the point across to me at least.
“What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. ” Matthew 6:32-33 (the message).
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33 (NLT)
take from this what the Lord wants you to have.
