one big collective sigh… ahhhhhhhh! so in case you were wondering we survived China. it was an interesting month to say the least. we were rockstars in Chinese high-schools, a circus parade in small towns that had obviously never seen white people in real life, we ate more noodles and dumplings that i ever want to mention again, we stayed in hotels that only cost $13 a night for a reason =)
but God is good. we did what we were supposed to. we grew as a team, and as individuals. we met friends, we saw snow, we climbed mountains, and then we ate some more noodles.
and now we are in Africa. and a little part of me feels home. we are ministering in a city called Eldoret, working with a pastor here. his main ministry is to street children around his church. yesterday was our first Sunday, and Pastor William told me at 8 AM when i asked him what he was preaching on that he wasn’t. all he was going to do was stand up and say world race, then it was all up to us. ha. so guess who got to preach in his first African church service. you got it. and of course the Lord provided. and the gospel was shared. and 20+ men came up to receive Christ. and i am not going to guess whether they were just coming up so they could get a good meal after. i am just trusting the message of God’s love for them penetrated their hearts. and they are going to be men of God, and pastors, and missionaries, and people who don’t go back to the glue that gets them high, or the alcohol that gets them drunk…
so things are great here. i miss you all. God is good. happy thanksgiving. (we ate pizza) merry christmas. pictures soon, although as you can imagine the African internet is not as speedy as some would expect.
love. obedience.
