So I have to confess that I have been holding back some things that have been happening in my life from this blog. I have been afraid of scaring people.  I hear Him saying, “No more secrets! You are supposed to share My miracles with everyone!” So that’s what I’m going to do! What I am about to share with you happened on June 24th, 2011.

Later in the evening, we went to a prayer and healing room. We walk in to the customary greetings and introductions and then sit down to join the mood of the Spirit. After a few minutes, a guy named Monty, whom I had seen once or twice, got up to leave. Dean, the intercessor that had started this prayer room, felt like Monty needed some prayer and asked Levi and I to join. I took my time. As everyone else was praying, I was praying in the spirit, asking the Lord to give me something for this guy. The second I laid hands on him, he looks at me with surprise and said, “You have a healer anointing!” Now, I had seen it happen before, but I still wasn’t very receiving of people telling me this, so I just smiled. I was “lead” to put my hands on his back and as I did I felt healing leave my body and go into his. Yea, pretty wild! After we were done praying, he pulled me aside and told me that he was planning on leaving and going into his hot tub because his back was killing him. He continued to tell me that that pain was gone and that I had put my hands on the exact spot. He also had pain in his shoulders that I prayed to be healed and it was completely washed away. He was so happy that he insisted on taking us to dinner.

We went to a 24 hour diner called Shari’s, where some people that I knew from his church were hanging out. By the time we get there its pushing midnight. They had just left a memorial service for a woman that went to their church. Because of this the manager had let them sit on an unoccupied half of the restaurant where it was a lot quieter. This little act of kindness turned out to be pivotal. As we were eating, a man in his twenties walked by looking for the bathroom. As he walked back by my buddy, Jason, looked at this guy and said, “Jesus loves you a lot man!” He turns around and says, “Yea I know, but I can’t get it right and I’m just a heroin junky anyways…” We asked him to sit down with us and he said if we really meant it, that he would love to. He said he had to go to the bathroom and would be back in five minutes. Ten minutes later, He still hadn’t come back and Jason got up and left. About a minute later I was prompted to do the same thing and found myself praying in the middle of the bathroom while Jason talked to him through the stall. After a while, Jason left and as I stayed in there only to hear flicking of a needle and what sounded like a moan of ecstasy from the heroin being successfully injected. I felt hopeless and asked the Lord why I had to hear that happen. I walked back to the table with a downcast look. A few minutes later, the manager came over and said that there was a guy saying that we invited him to our table. Excitement ran through the group!

His words were slurred and he was pretty stand offish. We started with chit chat that now seems somewhat unimportant. I remember someone asking him about Jesus and him saying that 4 or 5 different pastors had “lead” him in the prayer and nothing had happened. We asked him if we could pray for him and his demeanor instantly changed. He said that he needed to go to the bathroom and take his “insulin”. I felt a sudden urgency to not let this guy out of my site. This feeling was so profound that it can only be explained by the Lord spurring me into action! I told him that it would only take 30 seconds. This turned out to not be true, but he caved and let us lay hands on him, so I feel ok about it.

This is when my best friend, Holy Spirit, fell upon the place and it got crazy! I can’t specifically remember the words to the prayers because it was thick, but I know that the unified voice of our prayer was pouring Christ’s love all over Chance! He actually started crying out to Jesus on his own as tears gushed forth. I get chills looking back now and getting reminded of how powerful it was. We prayed over him for an hour and a half and I won’t be able to share it all at this moment, but I will share a few things that Jesus is highlighting in my mind. One person had the idea of baptizing Chance, and I was instantly thinking that it needed to be a full submersion or it couldn’t possibly do anything. Papa showed me how foolish I was for trying to put Him in the box that was my mind. I cupped my hand, poured some ice water into it, and washed it over His head. I’m not even sure what words I said, but I do know that for the third time that night, I felt healing flow through me into someone else! I asked Chance what was going on with him and he told me that his entire body had gotten really “warm and fuzzy”. I told him that the picture the lord was giving me, was that venom was being sucked out of his body like a snake bite. He agreed as the Lord supernaturally sobered Him up! At this point I’m hugging him and crying just as much as he is. Then a look of shame washed over him and he pulled away, looking at the track marks on his arm. I felt disgust for a second, and then a love for Chance that could only come from the Fathers heart washed over me. I slowly touched the holes in his arms and told him that I loved him. I felt this act of kindness utterly destroy his shame and guilt. He smiled at me overwhelmed in a good way for once!

The more involved I am with Jesus, the more I get to see the wonders of His kingdom. It is such an honor to be able to help the furthering of His Kingdom. Think about it. The creator of the universe invites me in and lets me be a part of His miracles! I pray that everyone reading this gets to see His wonders! John 5:25 says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.”. On this night I saw this happen. Ok, Chance was still breathing, but He is talking about the spiritually dead. On the same day that someone I had never met before swallowed a bottle of pills and when that didn’t work was doing drugs in a restaurant bathroom, I got to be a part of Jesus raising him from the dead. After all was said and done, Chance was given a second one, and kept saying “you saved my life”.
