I am having a hard time with an update today. Not because nothing good is happening or because I am bored or tired. This is hard because there is so much trying to process through my head. I mean, I am in freaking Kenya. On the other side of the world. I landed in Nairobi yesterday morning and I will leave tomorrow on a bus for another 8 hour drive to Kitale where I will spend the rest of the month with a church in Kachibora. So far since I have left Las Vegas, I have broken a button, lost a pair of earbuds, ripped my only legit pair of shorts (and I mean RIPPED, crack to bottom of the leg classic rippage), and I don't even care. It is such a blessing to lighten my load. I walked through down town Nairobi, almost getting hit by cars because they are driving on the wrong side of the road, and I had the best breakfast ever for only 300 KSH (or about $2.50ish, which means USD goes a long way here). I am seeing God bless not only me but my squad, and even random people we meet in the airport, on busses, and in this awesome city.

My team is praying hard together, living in the same big tent together, eating meals together, and loving the hell out of each other. I love being with my team. We call ourselves the Fire Disciples. If you can't figure it out, we are in mind to light up this place with some furious God sized love. We plan to set Kenya on fire in the best possible way. The kind of fire that Jesus lights in our own hearts. The kind of fire that John the Baptist spoke of when he said that "After me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire!" Matthew 3:11

Is Kenya ready? Are you, my beloved readers ready? We are here and we are ready. Bring it on.

The Man With Unclean Lips,
Brandon Barnum
