This is a blog about some of my crazy experiences in Uganda. First, you should know that right now as I write this, my stomach is killing me. It’s the food really. The food in Uganda is messin’ me up. I really do not want to insult their national dish ok, but plantains and peanut sauce does not do well for me. Second, as I have mentioned before, we once were robbed at our Ugandan home. Only outside mind you, but it was pretty freaky. I had a pair of shoes stolen and some others had some of their stuff stolen as well. Honestly, it just lightened my load so I was blessed either way. In case you don't remember, I spoke about in previous blogs that our team experienced intense spiritual warfare during our stay in Uganda. I mentioned a little bit about a man who was sick that we prayed over. After being in the presence of this man and after what some of our team have experienced with him prior to my meeting him, I am convinced that there is a direct demonic presence in his life. He was suffering from HIV and dying and when we told him about Jesus and asked him if he would commit his life to Christ he said yes. That was amazing but you could tell that there was something missing in his eyes. At one point I asked him to repeat some words after me. I told him to say his name and he did. Then I asked him to repeat, "I am a son of God." At this his eyes began to roll back a bit and he hesitated. I said it again, and finally he repeated it with great difficulty. It was clear to see that he was not alone. He was battling a difficult battle. I knew that the rest of his life would be a struggle but I knew that God was not done with him. It was a sad sight but it was in God's hands. So, finally I must share a story with you about how I got stoned in Africa. My teammate Carl and I were walking and all of the sudden a rock came out of nowhere and hit his arm, bounced over and hit me square in the chest. I mean, this hit was almost perfect. We stopped, looked at each other, and I said "Was that a rock?" We turned around and saw a small child staring at us in horror as we shouted "HEY!" and pointed. This kid was like a rocket, he blasted off so fast down the road and ran away. It was a very strange moment indeed. God bless you all and I'll catch ya in Rwanda!
