Holy smokes, community, habits, hobbies. What the heck do these three things have in common?
Welp. Let me tell you.
All together they equal out to be the unintentional formation of who you become.
Ish.
I don’t know about you but I don’t entirely want to become what I do or who I’m around all the time.
I was listening to a podcast yesterday that hit home in a lot of ways but the main point was that the more time we spend doing something, the more we will want to do that and become like that.
Example?
You spend everyday drinking coffee, and you’ll want coffee everyday.
You spend everyday reading your bible, you’ll want to spend more time reading your bible.
You spend more time at the bars, that’s what you’ll be wanting to do more.
You exercise more, you will want to work out more.
Get the point?
What we do, shapes who we become.
This can be a positive thing, reading your bible, working out, etc…. or it can be a negative thing.
You want to know who your going to become, start looking at the people around you. That’s probably who you will one day become.
Ever heard of that theory that you start acting like the people around you? You start saying the same things as them or doing the same mannerisms?
Your friends really like to do homework, you’ll probably do homework.
Your friends work out a lot, you’ll probably work out a lot.
Your friends go to coffee shops all the time, well just from hanging out with them that’s probably what you’ll do also.
Again, get the point?
I’m not saying drop all your friends that aren’t the best influence but I am saying maybe check how much of an influence your habits are really having on you.
Y’all should for sure go check out the full podcast by clicking here!
This month my team and I are working at Agape Home in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
We are working in the center everyday to help make jump ropes & sew school bags to be used for Operation Christmas child in Australia.
