Y’all the Lord loves me. He also loves you. A lot. Like a lot a lot. Like He decided it was worth sending His son to die for you. But wait..not even just die..no, He sent His son to be tortured and made fun of and mocked and then He got nails pounded through His hands and feet to attach Him to the cross and to top it off, a crown made up of thorns (or as my teammate Nettie calls them, “jiggers”) placed on top of His head. That is where He died a slow painful death. All because He believes that YOU are worth it. Yep. You.

Soooo I actually sat down to start talking about pools but then that came out so I’m just going to go from here.

The Lord has not only given me this love for water and bodies of water and but specifically He gave me a love for pools. This is something I’m learning more and more as I go on with the race. Y’all are probably going “what? She’s learning about pools in Europe or Africa? Or Asia?” Weird right? I didn’t expect it either. I think really though, He’s showing me that I love it and then He’s blessing me with them at random and very unexpected times.

I mean honestly I can look into a month on the race and I expected to maybe be able to swim in a giant mud puddle but nope, He gave me a freaking pool to swim in every night before I go to bed. (And thank God because it’s like 100 degrees here with 80% humidity)

The swim instructor in me was screaming when I got to teach preschool swim lessons in Zim.

The lifeguard in me was screaming when my friend started drowning.

Everything in me is screaming as I get to bring my team into this thing that I’m really passionate about by doing water aerobics for team time.

The coolest thing about it all though is that while He gave me a pool, He didn’t forget others. He gives us each little blessings according to who we are and what we need.

To one of my teammates He gave a host that shares her Filipino roots.

To another that is super passionate about women, He gave a bit of women’s ministry.

I think the most mind blowing thing is that not only did the Lord literally die for me and for you, He also decided that sometimes He wants to bless us with things we love. Holy crap y’all. If that’s not the most amazing love you’ve ever heard of then I really don’t know what is.

Awhile back (actually it was in Romania so about 4 months ago) my squad mate, Zach, my mentor, Amy & I wrote a blog together about the ways the Lord meets each of our individual needs and since that’s nearly the same thing I’m writing about now I decided to go ahead and share it with y’all since I actually never got around to posting it. So go ahead and click here to go read that bit!
