Do you ever meet those people and you instantly feel like they were a breath of fresh air?

What is it that makes them feel like that?

My opinion?
Authenticity.

I’m finding that the people that are the most raw and real about where they are at, are some of the people I’ve learned the most from.

I wish that more people in the church would declare what it is that they are facing.

Recently I heard a speaker state that they were still watching porn. They knew it was a sin and it brought shame but it’s something they were facing.

It wasn’t a problem that they had already overcome, it was something they were in the midst of.

I remember hearing that and turning to my team and saying, “I wish the church did that more often.”

The response I heard was, “why don’t you start then?”

Ish.

How scary is that? Let people in on the sin I’m walking in?

That’s what I’m going to do though.

Recently, I had a revelation that one of my biggest sins is that I dwell.

When I’m angry, I dwell in my anger.
I justify why I have every right to be angry.

I idolize my body image.
I face lust.
I compare myself to others all the time.
I am greedy..especially since I don’t currently have an income. When I do have something I hate sharing because it means, less for myself.

Sin isn’t meant to be kept inside. When we hide our sin, we allow it to rule our lives. We allow the enemy to have a foothold in our lives.
When we confess our sin, we are giving it to the Lord and we are choosing to walk in freedom.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16

Sin is a God given desire gone haywire.

My desire is to be like Jesus. Sometimes, I let the world tell me otherwise though.

Un-repented sin is choosing to sit in sin rather than turning to the Lord.

So today I am repenting. The sin I am walking in is not who I am and that’s not who I’m becoming either.
Today, I’m choosing to walk in forgiveness and in freedom.

How are you going to start walking in freedom?

This month my team and I are working with Oceans Edge ministry in Jaco, Costa Rica. This means we are helping with construction on the property, helping out in the youth at the church, participating in surf club and many other various things.

We have gotten to meet and learn from so many people that it’s crazy it’s only been a few weeks.

I can’t wait to share more about all that the Lord is doing here!

Grace & peace,

Bran
