My team visited a mental institution today. The smells were indescribable, and the living situations were far from nice. The smell of urine and filth filled the little open room we stood in. Yet the Holy Spirit was ever present. The smiles on the men, the shouts of praise, and their thankfulness will forever be etched in my brain.

I had the privilege and honor to share bits of my testimony with them; to tell them that they’re not any less loved or any less human just because they struggle with mental health. I was vulnerable about my own mental health, about being bipolar and medicated for it, about 2 separate suicide attempts, and how Jesus has saved my life.

Jesus loves every single one of those men that I encountered, and he loves every single one of you. Despite your health-mental or physical- Jesus can pull you out of that funk. In the Word, He promises that we will be renewed, whole, and healed in Heaven.

Right now, I’m okay with being on medication. I’ve accepted that Jesus has healed me with the medication He’s provided. I’m healed by His grace, and I’m held in His hands.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my day. Please say a prayer for an influx of staff to come in to the institution, please pray for God’s presence to take over the premises, and please pray for healing over the 50+ men we encountered.
