Why am I, Brandi Wilcox, going on The World Race?
In short: “Go and make disciples of ALL nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 [The Great Commission]
~ That's Jesus' commandment, and I want to fulfill it. ~
In Long: For the past two summers God has affirmed to me that I am called to full-time ministry. He has shown me that I have a heart for missions and a heart for the lost people in the world. I have this passion and desire to do ministry, yet I do not know where to go or what type of ministry to do. The World Race will give me an opportunity to go and be with 11 different people groups to see if I am called to one of those nations. The World Race will give me the opportunity to experience many different types of ministry to see what it is that God is calling me to do full-time.
The following are some "God moments" that have led me to be a World Racer…
- When I found out that I had been accepted to go to Kenya for the summer, my friend Samantha Allen was in Kenya on The World Race.
- My first official day being done with my internship to Kenya I went to a conference. At this conference, I went to four different workshops on the same day. All four of the workshops were on four different topics and all four of the workshops emphasized The Great Commission. Not only The Great Commission, but going to all nations. I was brought to tears in the last two workshops because I knew that going on The World Race was my next step in sharing Christ.
- When I received the call that I had been accepted to go on The World Race, I was literally speechless. & If you know me, that does NOT happen often.
All in all, I am going because the God of this Universe has called me, Brandi Wilcox, to go and make disciples of all nations.
