The Lord has called and I have picked up the phone and
answered the calling to move back to Cambodia as a full time missionary. My month 8 in
Cambodia was by far my favorite month on the race. You can read my 8 blogs
that I posted when I was there by clicking on this link: http://brandiwilcox.theworldrace.org/?category=08%3A+CAMBODIA. Reading these
blogs will give you a glimpse into my heart for Cambodia and the work the Lord
is doing there. If you would rather just
read one blog I HIGHLY recommend that you read this one: http://brandiwilcox.theworldrace.org/?filename=im-moving-to-cambodia
Two weeks into Cambodia I
heard the voice of the Lord tell me to come back to stay with the pastor,
Vuthy. As I continued seeking God, He has shared with me that I will be
returning for an initial commitment of 2 years. Vuthy’s ministry is operated
under Youth With a Mission (YWAM) ministries and in order to go back to the
location I am required to do a three month Discipleship Training School (DTS)
in Cambodia. I will be oriented into the
culture, learn the Khmer language, and live life in community with others who
have a passion for ministry.
Vuthy and I on my final
night in Cambodia on the race.
Here’s where it might get a
little confusing… In order for me to go to Cambodia through YWAM I need to have
a partnership with a ministry that will help to collect funds for me stateside.
God has led me to partner alongside World
Outreach Ministries (WOM) based out of Marietta, Georgia. WOM will process
all of my donations, make a bi-weekly deposit of funds received, and work as my
missionary agency.
I am BEYOND excited for this
opportunity.
While in Cambodia at Vuthy’s ministry location I will be working in close
relationship with the ministry teams and the youth in the community. I’ll have
an opportunity to set up a website, social media, and online networking for the
ministry. I will be able to be the only female there to disciple and lead
the young teens in their relationship with the Lord, as of now they do not have
a female Christian to look up to. Loving on children will be a daily
ministry as there is a free English school held at the ministry location.

empty classroom where the English classes are held.
The
beauty of the village life in Cambodia.

one of the teens from the village I will have the opportunity to disciple.
Who
couldn’t love an innocent face like this?
As I head back to Cambodia
on August 21st, I am in need of an
immediate $900 to purchase a plane ticket while they are still cheap. I
will be support raising a base of $5,000 to cover travel to Cambodia, purchase
of a camera, my DTS through YWAM, Visa fees, and purchase of a phone. As of
right now, I am looking at raising a monthly budget of $1,500 a month to cover
food, lodging, transportation, internet, loan payment, YWAM staff fees, and
other ministry expenses. Once I am finished with my DTS in December 2013, I will
be support raising to purchase a vehicle and to build a home. For an entire year’s budget to live in Cambodia,
I will need approximately $23,000 (not including the vehicle and home build). My initial commitment will be for two years of service with Vuthy and his ministry. Would you prayerfully consider supporting
me monthly with $20, $50, or $200? If you are not able to contribute monthly,
would you consider giving a one-time online gift now? The following paragraph
has information on how to support my ministry to Cambodia.
If you want to support my ministry, the
fastest way is to make an Online Donation via www.WorldOutreach.org/donations —
and select “Wilcox, Brandi – CAMBODIA” from
the list. The system can process USA
& International cards. You can also set up automatic
monthly Gifts with your credit card if you choose the “Monthly”
option. Or simply mail your check to: World Outreach
Ministries, PO Box B, Marietta, GA 30061 and designate for Brandi Wilcox #230. WOM is a 501 3C nonprofit and they will issue a tax deduction receipt upon your donation.
Thank you for your prayers and financial support! The Lord is calling me and again I am here to say, “Here am I, send me!”
