So this is my first post of many to come in the next year and a half. Welcome to my blog and thank you for checking it out. I do not have much to say, and my thoughts are quite eradic as three things are happening: 1.) I have a dog barking constantly for attention, 2.) the son of my host family is listening to very loud hard core music, which consists of guys screaming and making sounds that a crazy giant hog would make, and 3.) I am just not in the state of mind to write a blog (probably just due to the past two things previously listed).
This isn’t really what I expected my first blog to look like, but I knew I had to get something up. I have never really been too into the whole blogging thing. I tried a little stint back a few years ago, but that went downhill quickly. But as I read the blogs of racers of the past, racers presently, and racers-to-be, I see that God will quickly use what I am writing to further His Kingdom. I know that it will help me organize thoughts in my head and keep everyone else back home up to date with my trip. However, I also know that God will use the blogs to help me understand the trials and hardships that will come with The World Race. When I read others’ blogs, they all have happy endings (most of the time). ‘I ended up with lice today and I’m really not okay with it, but I know God is going use this situation to help me grow in relationships,’ or ‘So-and-so died yesterday and we’re all really upset about it, but God is comforting us through it all.’ They all seem to have the answer in the front of their minds. But I know that before they type those words onto their blogs, the writers/racers are upset, discouraged, saying to God “why?” I don’t blame them for being discouraged, but I know that through the time they/we spend typing out a blog/newsletter and thinking out the reasons why ‘this’ or ‘that’ happened, God is working in them. His Holy Spirit is molding them and shifting their focus to His Truth. These blogs give us another form of communication with and comfort by Our Father.
So I pray for everyone who has written, does write, and will write blogs with the World Race that God would use this time to grow and shape us. Thanks for reading.
