THE ULTIMATE NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

Every New Years Eve, we find ourselves scribbling down our various resolutions for the upcoming year.

Usually we settle for things such as: eating healthier, exercising more, spending less money, becoming successful, etc.

We focus on things that will make us better.

However, New Years shouldn’t be all about making a better you. It should be about making God better in you.

Straw will bend and wood will burn, but Gold will last.

Therefore, we should build our lives upon a foundation of Gold.

Jesus Christ is that strong, lasting foundation.

We become so consumed with things that truly do not matter and put our faith in them instead.

Yet, true success is built upon things that will last: eternal things.

Let this New Year be a chance for you to check your heart and your motives.

I am surely not saying that success and health are wrong things to want.

 No, no, no!!! [I sure would love a six-pack myself 😉 ]

What I am saying is that we should center our life on Christ.

A life consumed with Christ is a life persistent after the heart of God.

Remember: by making God bigger in our life, that means making ourselves smaller.
