El Salvador has been very relaxing and God has really spoken to me and taught me a lot of new and wonderful things!

This week I have realized how important the art of meditation is. It does not have to be the typical American conception of meditation (sitting with your legs crossed, hands in some weird position, and making an “ohmmmmm” sound). I’m talking about the idea of sitting with God’s word in our minds. I was listening to a podcast about this subject and it says “reading the bible was never intended to be the primary means of absorbing the bible reading is the starting place but meditation is the absorption of scripture, which leads to the experiences with God that we seek when we come to the bible.”
Anyways, this has been a big change on how I view reading the bible. I’m writing this to maybe change some of Y’all’s perspectives as well. It is a great thing to read the bible for knowledge, a story, and facts, but next time you pick up the bible I challenge you to do something.
I challenge you to pick one psalm. First thing you need to do is just read it, maybe 3 or 4 times, and really let it sink in. Second is to examine it. Examine what’s going on, why the psalmist is writing what he’s writing, and what he is looking for in the Lord. Third is to apply it to your life and see where it fits in with struggles you might be having. The Fourth thing (and most important thing) is to pray. Pray for guidance and understanding and for God’s presence. Sit there for as long as you need to, but just meditate on the presence of the Lord wrapping his arms around you!
Overall just put your confidence in gods presence. When you are in a cloud of uncertainty, just listen to God saying “I am with you, and you can be confident in me”
This podcast that I listened to really help me grow in my faith and realize how to have a better relationship with the Father!

My prayer request for the week is for the Lord to give me direction on somewhere that my team can do ministry better.
