Thanks for visiting my 1st blog post to learn some about me and my heart!
In case you missed it, my name is Bradley. I am 23 years old from Cincinnati, OH where I currently attend the University of Cincinnati, on my way to get my degree in Civil Engineering. Over the years I’ve found incredible joy in sports, traveling, being out in nature, eating some dang good food, and of course goofing off with some great friends and family.
All the while, missions have always been something that has been in the back of my head while in high school and going through college. During my high school and college years I went on several different small-scale mission trips around the country that really helped show me firsthand the importance of missions in my life and the true heart of the church. It wasn’t until two years ago when I signed up to work for an entire summer, repairing homes for the people of Central Appalachia through the Appalachia Service Project, that it became apparent that it takes more than serving and outreach to truly have a relationship with our Creator. I had signed up for this ministry hoping that it would cause me to draw closer to God, but before I even left God broke me. And the best way I can describe it, is that He changed my heart to desire Him and accept His perfect love and grace while also showing me that the ‘treasures’ of this world are never enough to fulfill you. THIS is why I knew I had to DO something! Obey the great commission to “make disciples of all nations” and believe Him in 1 Chronicles “I have made you a light for the gentiles.”
That is where this next crazy chapter of my life starts. With the World Race. 11 countries in 11 months, from Central America to Africa to Asia. I am incredibly stoked to see how God will move in my life and the lives of people all over the planet by using our team as a tool to help and minister to people of local churches, orphanages, refugee camps, schools or whatever door God opens for us. The World Race teams have also been present in many of these countries and communities for years, which allows us to build relationships and trust as we share the gospel.
Although, I would be lying if I said I did not have any fears or doubts about myself and my ability to teach the gospel. It is somehow terrifying yet extremely exciting getting to do the work of the Lord. I find comfort in reading about people like Moses, Jacob, or almost any other person in the Bible that God has called, as they all feel unworthy and incapable for what is laid out before them. I am praying that I too will be able to offer up my fears and become vulnerable to let myself and my pride go as it says in Exodus 14:14, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
