I have learned over the past few months that asking people to support me for/during this mission trip is not fun. I mean honestly, how many of us actually like asking other people for money? When I first started the fundraising process I did not even think I would be where I am today. I am already beyond grateful and blessed to have the amount I have now. Almost $11,000 is AMAZING and that is because of people like you, reading this blog, who have donated.
I am writing this blog to let you know what exactly a donation goes to. Besides the things I’ve already mentioned like air travel, land travel, all my lodging, all my meals, and insurance, a donation goes to so many other things as well that I didn’t know about before starting the race.
A donation also helps me and my team when we go to a ministry. It helps bring a smile to kids face who in that instant is not worried about his drug dealer father and lack of love from his mother. It goes towards my team and I being physical and occupational therapist for kids with disabilities and allows the teacher to have time to actually teach the other kids. It goes toward my team being able to be there for a host family going through a tough place who just needs to be loved. It goes toward prayer walks around communities and asking the Lord to move and bring to our awareness people who might need prayer.
I have stories of each of those examples above. You see, you are not only partnering with me on this once in a lifetime journey. You are also partnering with our Heavenly Father to help in kingdom work. Not everyone is able to go overseas and go on a mission trip but I am here now so help me be used by the Father! This is the way you can help plant God’s love.
I also want to encourage any size donation. I get equally excited about a $10 donation as I do a $1,000 donation because I know any amount gets me closer to being fully funded where I can focus completely on the mission work the Lord places in front of me. So I encourage anyone reading this to repost it and know the genuine heart I have behind writing it and how sincere I am as well. I cannot wait to see God work and use His people that will in return let me be used in the next 9 countries!
